One crazy dog, free to good home. |
|
My husband and I are separating. We have one beautiful, loving, high strung dog.
I have moved. The dog has been staying my previous apartment with the husband. Despite a long history of separation anxiety, many discussions (including emails) about the problem, my laying down what part I needed him to play, and a trail of destruction, the spousal unit left the dog out and alone, who then destroyed the couch. Which belongs to the landlady. Who wanted to show the unit the following Saturday.
We agreed to pay the damage out of savings, so that I can get the money back which I saved and put down on that apartment.
However, he refuses to crate the dog during the day. So the dog tore up the matching chair.
He still refuses to crate the dog or otherwise curb his behavior beyond putting some things out reach.
So tonight I confiscated the dog. I may return the dog to the breeder, which is what the breeder prefers.
If my husband is going to attack me by proxy by letting the dog commit destructive acts, then saying, "I can't control it," he is certainly not responsible enough to own a dog. Clearly we can no longer provide the dear animal an appropriate way of life, so he must go to someone who can.

4. sounds like he's using the dog the way some spousal units.. |

...use children to get at the other party. Sad, isn't it?
You must do what is best for the dog right now, if you can't keep it yourself. Return it to the breeder. You very likely don't need this extra stress just now.
