Loungers, are you ready to convert to metric if necessary?

There was talk of converting when I was a kid, and that was a while ago.

I can think in liters because soft drinks come in 2- and 3-liter bottles.

But kilometers and Celsius, I have to convert. :sigh:

1. Nope.
In my day, we had different measurement systems for everything,
and we LIKED it!

Damn kids today.

3. the problem is "converting" instead of just USING.
Its a piece of cake to adjust to a new system the hard part is trying to convert and deal with TWO (or more) systems. We should have just set a date and CHANGED. Period. It would be over with in a couple of weeks. Ever been to Europe? or even Mexico - you don't sit there going hmmmmm how many kilometers per hour equals how many MPH? You just drive the speed limit (or not heh heh) because the cars, kitchen measuring devices and so forth are all already in the system.

4. You'll have to take my rod from my cold, dead hands!
And that goes for my drams, pecks and gills as well!

5. Oh hell yeah
I like my math nice and easy. No fractions, no complicated formulas to calculate conversions, just move a decimal point and you're done. Fuck standard american measurements! Bring on the commie metric system!!!

6. the metric system is the tool of the devil. My car gets 40 rods to the hogshead, and that's
the way I likes it!
