I wish I was pregnant
Seriously! I loved being pregnant. Kinda hard to accomplish now that I'm committed to my same-sex partner.

Still, it was a wonderful feeling :loveya: I'd like to have another one someday soon--preferably a girl.

1. And I wish this were a good time in my life to get pregnant.
I wouldn't mind starting a family now, but I do not have my personal goals together quite yet.

2. I feel that, sweetness.
I know it's a bad time for me, just getting ready to start college. But man oh man, is that biological clock ever ticking. *sigh*

9. Lucky you to already have one.
:)

I didn't marry until I was almost 26, and I was in New York City with career at the moment. But darn did my clock start ticking at 28.

You still have plenty of time post-degree, if that's what you wish. :)

You have plenty of time! I had my first one at 36 & my second at 38. Best of luck, whatever happens!

3. I have a friend who wrote her dissertation with her baby in a carrier
as she typed away. She is my hero. I could never have done that. It's hard enough working, let alone school....

and I just met a woman who finished her doctorate while she had two young kids at home.

8. Me: Doctorate or bust, with or without children.
The problem is, we'd have to move and my husband and I are in love with our house... even if I do it in state.

And we'd have to leave our friends behind - a support network I'd desperately need if I decide to do this with children.

12. I can't speak for anyone but myself.
But as for me, I can say with 100% certainty that my child makes me prouder than any of my poems, any of my prose, anything I've ever done in my life. He's the most beautiful thing I've ever created.

From one writer to another--the beauty and wonder of teaching a 4 year old to love Shakespeare, Maya Angelou, and Monty Python is indescribable. I have the honor to help shape and create the human being who will take my place in our society someday. It's a wonderful feeling. Now I just need a girl to instill with a thousand feminist, liberal values. Then I'll feel complete. :loveya:

My sister's oldest was born right before her graduation from high school. I don't know how they pulled it off, but they are very succesful now.

13. Nope, too expensive.
Gotta find some male human who's willing to do it the natural way. Unlike my partner, I'm completely bisexual, so such things are possible with me. Not so much with her.

After posting about how you needed a guy to do it "the natural way," just how many male DUers sent you PMs with offers to assist you in your project?

I treasured every moment that my little one was inside of me. :loveya: If I could afford it, I'd probably have 10 kids and be happy about it.

18. Hahahaha!
Damn, 10 kids would be 9.5 too many for me. One kid is quite enough--I couldn't imagine raising any more. I'm an only and it's pretty great. Even so, I do not currently want children now or later.

34. I feel like I had kids with the wrong person.
My ex-husband is a decent father, but he wasn't the best husband by a long shot. I'm married now to a man I wish I could share that with (creating a life and parenting our own child together), but with 5 kids (ages 6-15) between us already, it would not be easy. It's something I'm trying to kind of "get over" so to speak and I try not to think about it much. (My feelings are not something I'd expect most people here to even "get" in all honesty.) We're quite biologically capable and my clock is still ticking for a number of years to come, but practically it's probably not the best idea.
