Be Careful With Knives Kids!
So a little while ago I was chopping up some potatoes that I had peeled and was getting ready to boil. I'm quick with a knife and good at chopping, but I made the mistake of getting distracted and looking away to talk to my little sister who had come into the kitchen. I cut my left thumb from the side deep enough to cut a good bit into the thumbnail. It has stopped bleeding after about 30 minutes so I don't think I'll need stitches since it's a thumb cut - but sheesh, that was a close one!

Moral of the story, be careful with knives! :scared:

1. I switched to food processors... I loved my new knife set from a year ago...
Unfortunately, I will have a fine tremor for the rest of my life since the chiropractor fucked me up in 2003; shoving that disc into my spine.

Let's just say I've done what you did one too many times. And not deliberately either; I gave up cutting 8 years ago. Or grew out of it, but I digress.

It's hard to hold a camera as well; my d-SLR's anti-shake feature comes in handy, I must say. :D

The tremor isn't all bad. I'm like a vibrator set on 'low' all the time... :spray:

5. Hypnotoad, please explain what the chiropractor did with a disc(?)
I can't imagine what this was, and I worked for a few chiropractors for nine years.

3. Meep! Glad you're ok!

At my old job I was chopping cabbage for coleslaw.. I started going too quick and wasn't paying close enough attention.. next thing I know I've cut off the very tip of my left ring finger. It didn't stop bleeding for an hour, and hurt like hell for days and days. I have a circle shaped scare on the top of my finger.

I feel for you!

4. Ava, read this to make sure your treatment of your cut is ok
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/first-aid-cuts/FA00042
You may already know how to deal with a deep cut, but better to be safe than sorry.
Our radio friend Bernie Ward was hospitalized a few months ago because he started to get septicemia (blood poisoning)from a cut on his finger. Also, are you up-to-date with a tetanus booster? I think you are supposed to have one every ten years.

9. My brother did that once and needed a ton of stitches
sliced right across the top of his hand. Pretty damned gory.

11. Luckily none of my cuts have been that bad.
I like to keep a box of band-aids around though, haha.
