As for the Texas hold'em, I'm adequate.

3. Can you take the Church for money?
I bet on red at the Byzantine Catholic roulette and won. After that I got the hell out before losing the money. At the Lutheran Church I won at euchre and got a $20 gift card, this was really nice of them because it didn't cost any money to play. They just wanted to have a tournament and prize.

9. Actually when my mom was congregational president of a Lutheran Church...
she discovered that the regional synod of the ELCA that she was in forbade the use of gambling as a fundraiser. The town we lived in was predominantly Catholic and bingo, casino nights, and even a summer fair with lots of games of chance and rides were the standard local fundraising techniques. How are we to compete with that?

The best suggestions I could come up with for fundraising were to start towing cars that parked in the church parking lot in order to ride the bus into town and to sue the adjacent fastfood restaurant for violating the property line when they did a complete overhaul of their lot and encroached on ours.

10. It was a real shame too, because the church was a block from an old folks home...
and we could have fleeced them good!

11. You're right. Can't overtake a 1500 year headstart on fundraising.
That would have been an interestung lawsuit.

6. NO.
If it's anything like their bingo, it's rigged. My Great Uncle ran the bingo at our local church for years. He was an insurance man who made a very modest income and had four kids. But he always seemed to have the latest gadget, a nice pool table, and nice clothes.
