1. A battery operated radio, batteries, iodine pills and a good bottle of tequila

3. Can opener, a pack of surgical gloves, flash lights,

some sort of dried food (raisins work or hard candy), your pain meds of choice, an antiseptic gel or creme like Neosporin, bandages, matches or lighters.

Put most important papers or copies (insurance, passport, birth certs, 214 if you're a vet, etc) in sealed plastic bags and have a separate container (preferably water tight) for them. If anyone is on 'scription meds, have them ready to go, make a list of them w/doctor's name/phone and stash with paperwork. If you have 'must have' stuff on your 'puter, copy to disk and stash w/paperwork. Post disaster lost records are a screaming horror show.
