in my estimation. Some guys just don't look good with any facial hair, others look fantastic with or without facial hair. Now, George Clooney can be sporting purple hair and I wouldn't give a shit--he will do with even a wart on the tip of his nose--um, I take that last part back. :)

(But it's not so comfy in terms of our sensitive skin so to speak, so be careful dudes.) It also isn't a good look for every guy. Finnfan is the opposite of looking like a bad ass, so a little stubble kind of adds some bad ass to him. Guys who already have a bad ass look as a baseline just look unkempt.
