Our poor little Bonnie is in awful pain
She doesn't have fever, even though her glands are slightly swollen (she has allergies). However, she's limping for lack of a better word. Really, she's barely stepping on that foot and even lifts it off the floor to walk. She's eating and drinking water, but obviously stays pretty much in one place all day.

We have an appointment at the vet tomorrow morning (he was only there 1/2 day today and there's no way we could have made it home, fished her out of her hidey hole and gotten to the vet.)

Our male cat sits right beside her and grooms her. He usually has to comfort me. It was kind of funny, but he was looking after Bonnie when I had a serial sneezing fit. He looked completely lost. "Where do I go? What do I do?"

Here's our baby girl:

3. Thanks, Mikey
At least Axl will be looking after her. Bonnie pisses me off sometimes because when she has to go to the vet and has icky vet smell on her, Axl will sit and groom her until she's calm. As for Axl, he's out of luck. She hisses at him and he just looks devastated.

2. Poor baby

Will she let you look at her paw to see if there's a cut or
something? At least she has her buddy by her side.
Can't the vet give you some meds to help until he/she
sees her?

4. I examined her paw yesterday
She made a kind of grunting sound and pulled it away. This morning, when I did the same thing, she screamed. I didn't feel any broken bones in her leg. You know how you sometimes find shed kitty toenails? They usually look kind of split up and old. I did find a toenail that I thought was a normal molt, but it didn't look as rank as the others.

She likes to hang with us in the evening, so we dutifully carry her in the living room and put her on a pillow so she doesn't have to walk or aggravate any pressure points.

6. Eek
Wear something you don't mind getting oil on. They shake their heads like crazy after the drops.

Thanks for the good wishes. I hate, hate, hate seeing either of my babies in pain.

8. He'll hold a grudge
But not for long. And that oil will get on your furniture. Put down towels before you go.

18. Good luck giving your cat ear mites drops
Abbott had mites when I first got him. He really didn't like the drops very much especially since I had to keep them in the fridge so they were cold drops

14. We just got back
He gave her Tramadol, but she has spondolysis in her spine making her leg completely lame. She's lost weight and muscle mass. He thinks she may have lymphoma.

13. for bonnie...
Blessed are you, Lord God, maker of all living creatures. You called forth fish in the sea, birds in the air and animals on the land. You inspired St. Francis to call all of them his brothers and sisters. We ask you to bless this pet. By the power of your love, enable it to live according to your plan. May we always praise you for all your beauty in creation. Blessed are you, Lord our God, in all your creatures! Amen.

16. That's lovely
Thank you. She's a sick girl, but we can't give her pain medication until we get home. She's had bad reactions to drugs before, so we want to be there with her.
