Man Loses Computer Thumb-Drive Filled With Child Porn, Goes To Police To Claim It - Arrested

A man has been charged after allegedly trying to claim a lost computer memory chip police say contained images of children being sexually abused.

The 47 year-old was arrested by detectives from Armadale, in Perth's southwest, when he allegedly tried to reclaim the lost thumb drive, police said.

They subsequently raided the man's Armadale home and seized a computer, discs and DVDs and charged him with one count of possession of child pornography.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on Friday.

Police would not say where the memory chip was located, except that it was not at the police station.

Computer crime squad investigators are examining the confiscated computer and equipment.
