What band did you love but now hate. And hate but now love? |
|
I was a Metallica fan up until "AND JUSTICE FOR ALL (1989)" when James thought he could carry a tune it destroyed it for me. Not to mention Lars and the whole Napster thing..
I hated U2 in the 80's and 90's I thought their music was simple, repetitive, and not rocking enough. Now I just love them. Many of their songs send chills up my spine.. like One ,wild horses, stuck in a moment, the sweetest thing....They put out better music than I gave them credit for.
I think time morphs our taste..The band you love today may turn your stomach tomorrow..You just never know.

I can't think of any bands I've turned against. Maybe Paul McCartney.

2. Well, it isn't a band anymore, but I loved Jefferson Airplane, and |
|
you know what happened to it. It was an abomination. I cringe, like hearing fingernails on a blackboard whenever I hear a Jefferson Starship song.

5. Loved Barenaked Ladies...can't stand them now. |
|
For the other way around...The Grateful Dead, maybe. I wouldn't say I LOVE them, but I have a greater appreciation for their musicianship and folk roots.

7. I went through hate/love/indifference with Southern Culture on the Skids |
|
The first time I saw them they were awful, and worse than that they played for twice their allotted time on a multiple bill gig leaving the headliner with only time to perform half a set.
Eventually they grew on me and Mary Huff joined and she was the perfect Southern belle even though she was from Jersey. I gleefully sweated through a decade of their shows and had great times.
The last time I saw them was a few years ago and they seemed like they were just going through the motions. I still like listening to them but I'm not sure I'll ever make an effort to go see them again.

10. Youtube doesn't really capture them |
|
They really had to be appreciated live: Loud, sweaty, raunchy and with chicken bones flying
