He was always coming up with this name outta no-place and it was always some guy he knew from someplace. Just makes me crack up to this day.
I had a writing exercise one time that was to re-tell the Three Bears using somebody's style. I used Spillane and had a great time with it. "Under her trenchcoat she was bear--ALL bear. Said her name was Rondine, and she needed my help..."
