***Summertime Public Service Announcement***
This little factoid was told to me years ago, and I've never seen anyone talk about it here...

So...

Here you are: Sprinkle baby powder on your wet sandy skin and the sand just falls off!

It works like a charm, and without pain! :bounce: :bounce:

Have a lovely, pain-free summer at the beach, everybody!

:hi:

1. It's also good for getting rid of that clammy feeling when it is very humid out
When I spent a lot of time on fishing boats at sea, it made me feel a lot cleaner after my shower because the humidity on the water is unbelievable.

5. According to my Derma, wear 30 sun screen
& put it on 20 minutes before you go outside. I can't believe that I never noticed that on the back of the bottles before. :hide:

21. I'll be back ...
and since it's heading toward 9PM on the east coast I think I'd better russel up something for summer. I just don't know what I feel like eating. We're limited on take-out variety out here in the sticks.

I was out earlier today taking some awesome shots of a small herd of buffalo that I've been watching grow for the past ten years. I haven't downloaded them from the camera yet because I wanted to do do a bit of mowing before the sun went down. This place is starting to look like nobody lives here anymore.

But we'll see what my doctor has to say next week.

8. Or just don't get wet and roll round in the sand in the first place, maybe?
That'll work even better.

12. My dear Redstone...
Well, you can certainly avoid the problem that way...

But my kids loved playing on the beach.....

And the baby powder really helped them be sand-free at the end of the day...

14. I think I understand the concept, My dear neighbor, except for the
wet part.

We have sand, but we don't have wet.

We have plenty of sand, but no beach.

15. My dear Ptah!
You do have lots of sand, sweetie!

And maybe it doesn't stick to your skin?

But if it does, then sprinkling a little baby powder will make it fall off......

The powder just absorbs the water, is all!

Plus, the powder keeps the sand from hurting you......all those little sharp edges can hurt...

Is this a better explanation?

BTW, nice picture!

16. Sand all around, waiting for the rain.
Baby powder is mostly talcum powder?

It is a soothing aid for the skin.

I don't know what the main ingredient is.....

You're probably right, though.....

And yes, it is very soothing!

22. Perfect timing for this PSA!
MG Jr. (all of 3 1/2) is going to encounter his first beach (prolly Newport) in about a week. I foresee wet sandy skin in his future, and he's a bit persnicketty when it comes to stuff stuck on him. Thanks, CaliPeggy! :hi:

I could have used that tip about 2 hours ago! We brought about half of Carbon Canyon beach home with us this afternoon. ;)

But I'll definitely be buying some baby powder and putting it in the car!
