I need a book recommendation
I don't know why, but I want to read a good book about a high school teacher, and, unfortunately, they don't arrange books by the profession of the protagonist. So I'm turning to you, the Lounge. Gimme some recs!

2. _Up the Down Staircase_
From the 60s. Excellent book - poignant, tragic, funny.

Don't skip it.

12. That's the very one. They made a movie of it --
-- don't they always? :eyes: -- with Sandy Somebody as the protagonist. I can never remember her name but she was also in "The Fox."

I hope Anaxamander gets it.

:hi:

6. Doesn't get any better than Teacher by Frank McCourt, though his previous book 'Tis
is also pretty good. I would have loved to been in his class! You might also check out Dangerous Minds by Lou Anne Johnson. She spoke to us at the beginning of the school year. I really admire her.
