I walked 3 miles yesterday and my legs are telling me "Don't do that again, dolt."

My upper legs, the muscles on the front (I'm obviously bad with the technical terms), are aching badly.

Whine whine whine.

I'll save the next walk for tomorrow; concentrate on lower back and shoulder routines today.

1. Wouldn't it be great...
I'm sorry about your aching legs. Remember, pace yourself. I know it's not easy. Wouldn't it be great if you could wake up every morning with the exact same amount of enthusiasm? Exercise routines would always work, everybody would be thin, Physical Therapy would literally be a no-brainer and neuromuscular conditions wouild be less disabling.

Could you send some of that enthusiasm over here? I really need it. Kudos for getting out there and actually doing it!

2. Thanks, but it is out of necessity...
If I am to become a photojournalist before the field is offshored to India, getting even remotely fit is a necessity.

Plus, I've been having other problems with leg weakness for some time. I've got to end the mostly sedentary lifestyle.

Or acquiesce to the concept of "radical acceptance" and hope for a quick, painless death I won't know about in advance.

3. Good Morning Toad....
Be like me...never try to improve yourself. Spare yourself the pain. Have a beer or three. How 'bout some nice greasy pizza? MmmmMmmmmmm.

5. Okay.
Haven't drank beer for nearly a year and I home cook only healthy meals.

As for improving myself, I'd love to. But what's the point of improving or learning when everything that can be accomplished after the learning is done is being sent to some country whose inhabitants would otherwise not care if you or I die? We consumers have a right to "Return on Investment" and "Money is an incentive" as well, surely?

It's not stopping me from going back for education, but the whole of the issue is hardly as simplistic as we're being told.

4. I walk three miles a day six days a week.
:hi: It took some getting used to, but damn, am I glad I've kept up with it! :) It'll really pay off when you find yourself hitting the three-mile mark and aren't even breathing hard. :D I now walk my three miles at an almost-running pace, and I'm pleasantly amazed that I can do that.

It'll get better...really, it will.

8. Do a little stretching exercise before the next walk.
what your legs are really saying is to take them out more often. :-)
