Played petanque today - Ask me anything. |
|
The local Alliance Francaise had a friendly pétanque tournament today while the bike race was going on.
Thirty people, a baseball field and pétanque balls. And the magic ingredient, pastis. Our team won one lost two. I need to improve my long game and my point game.

2. Pétanque is sometimes known as Boules |
|
It's a game similar to Bocce and lawn bowling.
The balls are smaller and heavier and there is no run up allowed.
Great game to play if you want a leisurely afternoon.
2, 3, 4, 6 people can play. 2-3 play with 3 balls each, 4 and up with 2 each.
You throw a small ball - the cochonnet and then try to land balls closest to it. You can knock your opponents balls away from the cochonnet.
Whoever scores 13 points first wins the game.
