Ipod help
I recently re-formatted my hard drive and need to back up my Ipod again. I found the directions to transfer my music, but it doesn't say a word about my videos. Are they saying music files as a generic term for ALL my files? Or am I not able to back up my video files? Thanks if anyone could help me.

1. What directions are you looking at?

Some might back-up your videos and some might not.. If you want to post a link to the directions I will take a look. I assume you googled for them.

Edit to add :: And what version of Windows are you using? I can tell you how to transfer everything if you are on XP or 2000. It is really simple. I'm not sure about Vista or the 9X versions of Windows.

3. Don't blame me if something goes wrong and you lose data..
1. Go to the preferences for iTunes and have it look like this.. Settings wise.. I am on OS X right now and can't boot into XP for a few hours.

2. Plug in the iPod... Don't allow iTunes to sync with the new computer. Read carefully and say NO.

3. Goto :: Control Panel-->Portable Media Devices-->Double click on your iPod

4. Tools menu-->Options-->View-->Show hidden files and folders

5. Now you should be able to see your iPod like a normal drive under My Computer

6. Copy the entire contents from the iPods hard drive to your desktop..

7. In iTunes File-->Add To Library. Select what you moved over and you should have everything copied over... This will take a long time.

8. If something goes wrong don't blame me.. I am trying to help and can't test that on XP right now... I am running off of my memory.
