Strange question but if anyone can lend a hand , please feel free....
I'm looking for recommendations for natural underarm deodorants/antiperspirants. We've tried the hemp derived version, Tom's natural antiperspirant, the crystal rock thing and although they worked for me, Himself has had less than satisfactory outcome. he's looking for natural products because he has a strong family history of Cancers and wants to get into as many natural ways of living as possible. Does anyone have any recommendations of a product that controls perspiration and odour? He sweats like a thief in church and has been complaining that the ones he has been using hasn't been controlling things the way he wats them to. Any input is appreciated.

1. Excessive
sweating is actually a medical condition. Some folks are treating it with Botox, of all things.

2. He may want to try "Body mint"

It is not an antiperspirant but it does control odor. It is a pill that reduces body odor but takes about a month to start working. I believe you can get it at drugstore.com. He then can use corn starch to absorb moisture.

3. I discovered that taking baths with a couple cups of Epsom salts really

stops the smelling. I think it is bacteria that causes one to have Body odor and with all the information about anti-perspirants and breast cancer I wanted some natural things too.

So I take those baths and I use the Queen Helene brand.....with tea tree oil because that kills germs too. As far as stopping sweating I think you are supposed to sweat some. If it gets bad I would use an anti-perspirant but I'm not into clogging one of my body's natural systems of removing toxins. Of course sometimes it is just necessary.

My 2 cents

4. My own observations...
Myself, I noticed with the crystal rock thingie that it was only effective when I used it immediately after showering. It didn't work if I hadn't showered.

Sometimes the odor is also coming from the clothing itself, i.e. it was previously "stained" into the clothing. He could smell fine, but the heat activates the "stink" that's stained into the clothing he's wearing (personal experience with this as well), making it seem as though he's stinking. Washing the clothing using a powerful stain remover plus an antibacterial product (in addition to soap/detergent) might possibly remove the odor-stain.

A dermatologist may have some good suggestions as well.

Please remember that "natural" does not necessarily mean "not harmful". Tea-tree oil can cause its fair share of problems, for example.

Best of luck to you! :)
