2. Who do you think best embodies the feminine or masculine ideal?

3. What is your preferred non-alcoholic beverage, and how do you prepare it?

4. What are your feelings on fabric softener?

1. Monday answers
1. How do you (personally, you) help protect the environment?
I choose to live in a place that's close to my job, stores and favorite hang-outs, so my automobile usage is minimized

2. Who do you think best embodies the feminine or masculine ideal?
I don't know if there is an ideal but I liked Elle McPherson back in the day. I also really like Katerina Witt. Of course since I'm a straight guy I can't even speculate on masculine ideals, but I admit that folks like George Clooney and Brad Pitt are kind of hot

3. What is your preferred non-alcoholic beverage, and how do you prepare it?

N/A

4. What are your feelings on fabric softener?

Don't use it

5. Should people who wear perfume that can be smelled more than one inch away from them and who then go out in public making life hell for other people be perfunctorily executed? Or executed in some other way, such as "horribly" or "with great prejudice" or "immediately"?

Obviously

1. How do you (personally, you) help protect the environment?
- Recycling / composting: We recycle plastic, aluminum, paper and glass. We compost kitchen refuse (coffee grounds, non-citrus fruits, etc., and grass clippings, for use in the garden. Large garden refuse (tree limbs, etc.) go to the community garden refuse center. Also, I generally take public transportion everywhere except grocry shopping and to/from the veterinarian with Ginger.

2. Who do you think best embodies the feminine or masculine ideal?
Male: Leonard Cohen

3. What is your preferred non-alcoholic beverage, and how do you prepare it?
Fresh lemonade:
Dissolve one cup of sugar in one cup of water. Add one cup of freshly-squeezed lemon juice. This makes a lemon syrup. Add water, lemon slices and ice cubes to taste.

4. What are your feelings on fabric softener?
We don't dry our clothes in a dryer, so I haven't thought about it in years.

5. Should people who wear perfume that can be smelled more than one inch away from them and who then go out in public making life hell for other people be perfunctorily executed? Or executed in some other way, such as "horribly" or "with great prejudice" or "immediately"?
No, they should be sent to charm school.

3. here goes
1. How do you (personally, you) help protect the environment?
Recycle, recycle, recycle, compost, use window fans, wash clothes in cold water and I walk A LOT to do local in town errands as opposed to driving into town.

2. Who do you think best embodies the feminine or masculine ideal?
Ideals are arbitrary and change as society changes. In addition, you can never know who really embodies it unless it's someone you have a close intimate relationship with, otherwise, IMO, all you are judging is a facade.

3. What is your preferred non-alcoholic beverage, and how do you prepare it?
Seltzer & pomagranate juice..half & half.

4. What are your feelings on fabric softener?
It is unnecessary and triggers alergic dermatitis. Don't use it. Do we really need more chemicals on our clothes and in our waste water?

5. Should people who wear perfume that can be smelled more than one inch away from them and who then go out in public making life hell for other people be perfunctorily executed? Or executed in some other way, such as "horribly" or "with great prejudice" or "immediately"?
People who overdo their perfume should be embarrassed. You should say, "god, what IS that stench?"

5. Answers.
How do you (personally, you) help protect the environment? We recycle. I bring my own bags to the grocery store, I drive as little as possible and combine errands. I use green cleaners in my home.

2. Who do you think best embodies the feminine or masculine ideal? Christopher Meloni. Grrrrr

3. What is your preferred non-alcoholic beverage, and how do you prepare it? Iced tea. Boil the water, steep the bags, pour over ice. Recently, I've been half and halfing it with some raspberry lemonade. Delicious.

4. What are your feelings on fabric softener? I have some green stuff, but I don't use it.

5. Should people who wear perfume that can be smelled more than one inch away from them and who then go out in public making life hell for other people be perfunctorily executed? Or executed in some other way, such as "horribly" or "with great prejudice" or "immediately"? I think people who don't like perfume should be shot on sight.

7. I work in environmental consulting
and my electric and natural gas bill are under 20 bucks a month combined. I drive a Toyota Corolla. I also put in native plants in front on my building, which my neighbors always water. x(

For the next question, I'm assuming you mean feminine/masculine qualities and not appearance.

The feminine ideal: it's cliched, but I think Oprah is the feminine ideal. She's kind, smart, and funny, and she tries to make the world a better place in simple ways. She also obviously knows how to enjoy life, and seems to have a good time even while going through a lot of the struggles most women go through.

The masculine ideal: I can't think of anyone, sorry. I'd say qualities like intelligence, humility, and devotion to family would be high on the list though. Al Gore comes close though.

Mango Lassi: Mangoes, yogurt, and milk in a 2:2:1 ratio. :9

Fabric softener is a waste of money.

People who make, sell, or wear perfume should be shot at dawn. Or whenever's convenient, ya know? And they don't have to be shot, but shooting's easier for the person doing the killing, which should be all of us, because we are all victims here.

Having one of the most hyper sensitive schnozzolas I have ever run across, I DELIGHT in the occasional scent of a FINE perfume melding with the body chemistry of a female.

My wife wearing "Knowing" is one of the few truly FREE delights I have left in my life.

  1. Most of the time I take the train to work instead of driving. (But I might have to start driving to NJ daily instead of working in Manhattan. I'll pitch working from home 3 days a week when that happens.) I also recycle, and try to be consistent with that. I realize there is much more I could do, and I feel a healthy dose of liberal guilt for not doing it.
  2. Are there just one masculine and feminine ideals? Isn't that a matter of opinion?
  3. Varies. Sometimes it's OJ (open carton/jug, pour in glass), sometimes it's just water (open tap, pour in glass), sometimes it's V8 (open bottle, pour in glass).
  4. Fabric softener is a good thing for towels and the like, but beyond that I have no feelings one way or the other, and could live very easily without it.
  5. People who wear strong scent should be publicly shamed while being removed, violently if necessary, from my presence.

10. Monday answers
1. How do you (personally, you) help protect the environment?
I'm vegan, and I've made my job (and those who I manage) such that we all telecommute 95% of the time.

2. Who do you think best embodies the feminine or masculine ideal?
I don't think there is one. To me, it would be someone like Pink, a strong, independent, outspoken woman. Most folks probably wouldn't find her to be particularly "feminine"

3. What is your preferred non-alcoholic beverage, and how do you prepare it?
My pre-workout drink. Half liter bottle of water, twice filtered. One heaping scoop of NO-Xplode, one scoop of Cell Mass.

4. What are your feelings on fabric softener?
Don't use it. The fewer chemicals in my house/on my person, the better.

5. Should people who wear perfume that can be smelled more than one inch away from them and who then go out in public making life hell for other people be perfunctorily executed? Or executed in some other way, such as "horribly" or "with great prejudice" or "immediately"?
Execution goes too far. I say, just skin them in the offensive areas. They'd likely learn their lesson, if not at the time of eradication, then CERTAINLY when they went to apply more scented bliss to the now quite raw body parts. The offensive skin would probably make a fine fertilizer, which takes us back to #1.

11. Monday morning answers.... Thanks, Rabrrrrr!
1. How do you (personally, you) help protect the environment? Lots, I hope. I limit driving, conserve water and electricity, grow a garden, and probably other stuff. We don't have recycling here, but I try not to create excess garbage.

2. Who do you think best embodies the feminine or masculine ideal? Geez, what a hard question! I'll stick with the ancient Greeks. They had the right idea.

3. What is your preferred non-alcoholic beverage, and how do you prepare it? Iced green tea with honey. It comes in a bottle. Serve over ice, if desired.

4. What are your feelings on fabric softener? As long as it is unscented, I'm fine with it.

5. Should people who wear perfume that can be smelled more than one inch away from them and who then go out in public making life hell for other people be perfunctorily executed? Or executed in some other way, such as "horribly" or "with great prejudice" or "immediately"? Well, maybe that's going too far. How about turning a hose on them instead? That should give them a clue.

1. How do you (personally, you) help protect the environment?
