How would you rank the seasons, in order of preference?
Mine:

1) fall (favorite season)
2) spring
3) winter
4) summer (least favorite season)

Though the early part of winter is up there with fall.

11. pre-summer has been...
pretty nice here so far.

Last June, we got absolutely killed here with what they are calling a 500 year flood. We only got 2 inches of water at our house, but I thought I would NEVER see water in my basement.

5. Let's see
1/2. Spring/Fall: Both seasons last a few days combined, but they are the best days of the year!

3. Summer: It's hot, but better than being cold.

4. Winter: Too cold, but I like sweaters.

Edited on Mon Jun-11-07 11:22 PM by XemaSab
Duck, landbird, mountainbird, and shorebird. :D

Shorebird season has a certain je ne sais quois. Ducks are fun, landbirds are fun, and the mountains... are far.

So fall, winter, spring, summer. :D

18. Hi, Peggy
Interesting thread so far, isn't it? With global warming, I had to put summer last. Winter seems to have more breaks in it and be shorter. Here in June, July, and August, it is rare for the temps to go below 80. Then, there's the humidity. :hi:

I wonder why the humidity is high in the country's interior.......

Out here, on the Pacific coast, it's rarely above 60%...

I don't mind heat if its dry...

17. We have only two seasons
1) Pleasantly cool, but not chilly: early November to mid or late May
2) Ungodly hot, humid, buggy and generally miserable: the rest of the year

It's no coincidence that Florida was sparsely populated until the invention of air-conditioning.

The last two are interchangeable, depending on the particular year. I don't like when either is extreme.

37. I live in Colorado. I can't make these simplistic distinctions.
It's been a rainy, overcast late spring so far, giving way to a blistering summer and, in all likelihood, a chill, stormy winter (childhood memories of going trick-or-treating with a rain slicker over my costume tends to skew one's expectations).

1) early spring (favorite season)
2) fall (lasts about 2 weeks here)
3) summer (that seems to be 90% of the year here)
4) winter (such a depressing time of year for some reason although I love winter foods like soup and chili)
