The "Sopranos" finale reminds me of "The Usual Suspects" ending.
We've been left with three different possibilities for the "Sopranos". He was killed, all four were killed, or they all lived. In the "Usual Suspects", Verbal could have been Kaiser Soeze, Kobayashi could have been Kaiser Soeze, or Kaiser Soeze did not even exist--he was just made up by Verbal. I am wondering if this is where the "Sopranos" writers got the idea for the ridicules series finale.

1. There was no ambiguity about who was Keyser Soze.
The police sketch that came over the fax machine just as Verbal left the police station was Verbal/Keyser. And Chris McQuarrie, who wrote the story, has always said Verbal = Keyser.

2. Not when the movie was released.
When the movie first came out, McQuarrie stated that he was laughing all the way to the bank over leaving the viewers with three options on the ending. The sketch was a composite of Verbal and Kobayashi. He wanted the viewer to wonder which of the three possible endings could be true so that, through word of mouth, more people would go see the movie. Kevin Spacey also stated that even he wasn't 100% sure about the ending.
