14. That was great!
I hope something was lost in translation:

Look, no one knows yet
My heart loves you.

We meet because of destiny
We also create false promises.

3. You can find
the bait and bags at Wallyworld, Target, etc., in the gardening area. What you want to do is hang them as far away as possible from your plants as the bait is going to attract them. I have had them horribly these past 2 years (I am on the IL/IA border) and they will chew the hell out of everything. Another things you can do is keep a can/bucket/whatever of soapy water in the garden and when you see one, smoosh it between your fingers :puke: (I wear gloves) and throw it in the water.

Good luck!

5. They have kept
most of them away from my flower garden. Without them, there were a brazillion! (had to throw that in there). As for attracting more, while that may be true, they are being attracted to the bait and trap, not your plants.

6. Yes they really help.
We had them bad when we moved here. I mean setting out about 10 5 traps and emptying full bags daily bad. After about 3 years of using the traps and bags we haven't had any since and that was a good 10 years ago. Because you trap the adults they don't have a chance to breed. Saves your grass from grubs and moles too. Now if I see a couple I set out a trap but we have never come close to filling a bag since.

7. Seriously?
I gave up on the traps after three years and turned to hand picking. Your story gives me hope! I'll try the traps again.

8. I know the first year and most of the second I
felt like they were attracting more but the beetles had wiped out about 10 rose bushes and I had too many animals to use poison on the grass. I figured if it was filling the bags at least those beetles weren't eating what was left of the roses. It took until the third year before I was a believer. I did put some out for a few years after that but since I was hardly catching any I finally stopped unless I saw some.

9. Okay, well I believe you.
I've planted twenty non-rugosa rose bushes in my garden in a state where roses are hard to grow, and after the first bloom I get nothing because of the beetles. This house is for sale, but in the next garden I'm going to use the traps if I see beetles, and not quit. I DESPISE Japanese Beetles. Only Lily Beetles are as devastating in my part of the world.

10. You are a much more determined
person than I. The one climbing rose that survived is the only one here. It is so humid here that black spot is a major problem too. After the beetles did their damage black spot finished them off so I gave up on roses. The climbing rose bush just keeps on going no matter what the DH does to kill it though and it is loaded with flowers every June.

11. Well, I spray for black spot, otherwise a number of my roses
wouldn't survive. It's the one chemical I use in my garden but I love my roses!

13. Cpould you tell me more? Does it say they are just for Jap. beetles?
Because I have a horrible problem with them too. I wonder why the birds don't eat them. They don't move very fast. They love eating my roses and hibiscus.
