He performed (and my use of that word should not be inferred to mean anything positive) many years ago during his "comeback" at a little bar in my old hometown, population 15,000. Probably 50 people in the bar. Half 'em left before his first "set" was done.

But I was there and stayed there. Listened to him try to be a thrasher. I wanted to be able to say I was there the night he finally crashed and burned up totally. He started the night pissed and kept getting more and more pissed as the crowd dwindled.

How he lingers, I will never understand.
