Oh, goody. I just found out that I'll be in a "rustic" location on Monday and Tuesday. |
|
:yoiks: I'm going to an executive board retreat for our state professional organization. It's at a state park not very far from where I live, and I wasn't planning on staying overnight on Monday night. However, one of the women I know on the board is begging me to be her roommate that night. She doesn't get along well with most of the women there, and she knows I don't snore. I'm sorry about her dilemma, but if I don't stay overnight, she'll get to have a room to herself. :)
Rustic is OK for daytime, but the facilities are as follows: no A/C, no TV, no Internets (therefore, no DU ), no telephone service, weak cell phone reception, bunk beds, and communal bathrooms away from the cabins. :( I mean, I did the Girl Scout camping thing way back when, but I don't do rustic accommodations any more. This state park is a converted Boy Scout camp, which should tell you a lot. :)
This girly-girl is not into "roughing it", so I think I'll just commute. :)
Besides, the day I get back to the office (on Wed.), we have a State auditor coming to do a program review. I want to be sharp and alert for their visit.

1. Nope, if it doesn't have room service ~ it's too rustic for me. |

Followed by "no thank you." Ugh.

11. Darn it, I was hoping I could whore it up big-time. |
|
 But that's a good point. I don't want to be butchered by any escaped mental patients or anything. :P

:hi: And the one we're going to (not Hanging Rock, unfortunately) is also scenic. :) By day, that is. You can't see the scenery at night, so there's no reason for me to be "rustic" after sundown.
