Sad to say Ted Nugent's speakers & amps looked like this in the late '70's, but I have only seen him indoors.
As with
Black Sabbath Aerosmith Scorpions AC/DC - with Bon Scott on lead vocals Judas Priest Van Halen Dead Kennedy's The Stranglers Motley Crue
I miss the ear bleedin' days!!

And indeed, we planned to — even shoplifting a carton of smokes for the trip. (My partner in crime's dad found them and crumbled every pack into tobacco dust.) But a sojourn like that was a bit out of the financial reach of a couple of 17-year-olds, so...
I was a massive fan of Deep Purple and ELP then, but I think DP's performance might've left me a bit disappointed — at least from what I've seen on YouTube. In particular, "Space Truckin'" was nowhere near the "Made In Japan" version. Guess they needed Ian Gillan.
Note: That was a hugely expensive show for its time. Tickets were something like $17.50. :)

She was 17 and I was 14 at that time. She said the biggest problem there was that they did not have nearly enough toilets. There were far more people there than they had planned for. This wasn't as big a problem for the guys, as they could just stand at the fence and pee. But the girls had to wait in line for what was far too few porta-potties. She said they dropped salt tablets from the air, and she ate one. After that, she could drink all the water she wanted to and not have to pee. She said that Keith Emerson was strapped to a grand piano that rotated 360 degrees and he was upside-down a few times. I saw this a couple days later on "In Concert" (the ABC late-night concert series). And they were smart to charge a lot for the tickets, as that turned out to be one of the very few rock festivals that actually turned a profit.
