Hehe, What's for Dinner DU?
Gawd knows what we're having, the meats in the Fridge aren't defrosted yet, so it's gonna be something like: Turkey Sandwiches or Tuna Sandwiches, Mac and Cheese maybe, Possibly a Fruit Salad...

How about you? :hi:

30. I'm kinda cycling
through days where consumption is "normal" and ultra-light. 2 months ago I reached a tipping point (185 lbs to be exact) and said "enough!" I was eating so much excess---from boredom and habit and depression---and the outcome was pretty discouraging.

After that realization I tried fasting and was surprised to find "hunger" not so unpleasant nor unhealthy for me...no dizziness or weakness, etc. I have shaped up my habits a bit: now am spacing my "real" meals MUCH farther apart, and relying on healthy high-protein snacks in between, and LOTs of hydration. That and a better regimen of exercise has brought me down into the 160's from the 180's...a big accomplishment for me.

I've adapted well to my new meal-plan (and external circumstances don't disrupt it much) but of course miss the regular 2-or-3 daily feasts....

So...I enjoy vicariously, though y'all!

43. It's in it's infancy stages right now.
The dough is a yeast dough with some garlic powder, onion powder, and italian seasoning mixed in.

It will probably just be a simple pizza with some mushrooms and cheese.
My husband isn't feeling all that well, so we're going light tonight.

My best and most recent success was using my pizza dough to make fabulous calzones. The stuffing was made with 1 large bag of frozen spinach, 1 package of frozen artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and alfredo sauce. It was to die for!! :9

70. I had...
Edited on Wed Jun-13-07 10:23 PM by Saint Etienne17
a bowl of canteloupe and some cereal, but I spent the evening cooking for the next two days of work.

I prepared some bacon wrapped cubes of canteloupe (would've used prosciutto, but I hate the packaged stuff and there isn't a deli near here, and hey I got to use the bacon grease later on :P )

Next I made a simple torn romaine leaf salad w/ some chopped sweet onion, tiny diced canteloupe, sliced almonds, and finely diced pepperoncini (weird combo, but has some of my favorite tastes and covers crispy, soft, nutty, tang, spicy, and sweet flavors/textures). The dressing consisted of strained bacon grease and pomegranate syrup and enough liquid from the pepperoncini jar to tone down the bacon grease.

Then for a main dish I lightly browned some 3 inch strips of top round w/ some chopped onion, then braised it a bit in a mix of vodka which I let boil down and some of the pomegranate syrup, and then added cumin because I hadn't had it in a while. Then I took the meat out and added more cumin to the remaining sauce, added sliced almonds and added some thin green beans (haricots verts from Trader Joe's).

:9

forgot to add, for a second dinner I'm going to have some diet cherry 7up vodkas once I get my lazy ass to Vons and get the 7up :P
