I feel dreadful. Hateable.
I hate feeling this way. But it's somewhat my fault, because I have days when I don't want to deal with other people. So I was chatting with my hair stylist today, and for some reason I thought I was boring him. Just a child in a young woman's body. Vacuous. Uninteresting.

I know tomorrow I'll feel better. That I'll awaken and forget everything that I'm thinking at the moment. That the sun will shine through the blinds and I'll go exercise and move on with my tasks.

But for now my chest hurts. My breathing impaired. My stomach churns and I can't bear to look at myself in the mirror.

I hope the evening ends quickly.

Writer.

1. Find a way to laugh...
it always helps, and relaxes some of that tension. I know all too well how this feels. Hang in there.

8. You hear the one about the author who wanted to be great?
When asked to define 'Great,' the young writer said, "I want to write stuff that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to on a truly emotional level, stuff that will make them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!"

she now works at Microsoft writing error messages

12. Why is a good writer like a criminal?
Because they both prefer short sentences.

15. this one is the bestest!
I used "bestest" to send a shock down your spine.

Here is my favorite one so far...

A hungry lion was roaming through the jungle looking for something to eat. He came across two men. One was sitting under a tree and reading a book; the other was typing away on his typewriter.

The lion quickly pounced on the man reading the book and devoured him. Even the king of the jungle knows that readers digest and writers cramp.

And a dancer!

17. If Dr. Seuss Were a Technical Writer.....
Here's an easy game to play.
Here's an easy thing to say:

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port, And the bus
is interrupted as a very last resort,
And the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
Then the socket packet pocket has an error to report!

If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash,
And the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash,
And your data is corrupted 'cause the index doesn't hash,
then your situation's hopeless, and your system's gonna
crash!

You can't say this?
What a shame sir!
We'll find you
Another game sir.

If the label on the cable on the table at your house,
Says the network is connected to the button on your mouse,
But your packets want to tunnel on another protocol, That's
repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall, And your
screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss, So
your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse, Then you
may as well reboot and go out with a bang, 'Cause as sure as
I'm a poet, the sucker's gonna hang!

When the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy on the disk,
And the microcode instructions cause unnecessary risc,
Then you have to flash your memory and you'll want to ram
your rom. Quickly turn off the computer and be sure to tell
your mom!

6. Yes... but that was for a phone call that didn't happen...
which is likely why I'm feeling the way I am right now.

I didn't want to speak to the person, anyway.

7. You know what, you might have bored your hairstylist.
Perhaps you have very little in common... so what? And you can't always be "on". As for not looking at yourself in the mirror... whaaaa? You're gorgeous. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

I know it's just a feeling that will change. My hub and I are taking a friend out to dinner tonight. Maybe it will get better then.

13. I won't ever forget about you, m'dear.
You say I'm "smokin' hawt and smart as hell"... sometimes that doesn't always work well together.

But you're so sweet. You always make me smile. :)
