Gaw Damn! The middle of June, here, and we actually turned on the fireplace
for half an hour. It's about 50 degrees out, colder because of the wind...

Welcome to New England. Hey, at least I'm not spending any money on electricity for air-conditioning.

1. It's chilly out there!
The coastal breeze is about 20 mph, with higher gusts. Ugh.

:hi:

3. No, I'm NOT switching with you. I'll take the chill anytime over the heat.
100 degrees? Damn, that's ugly.

Stay cool if you can.

7. Newfoundland. Though it might as well be.
It's especially bad since we just came off a week of 80ish degree weather.

11. You're a Newf? That's a part of Canada that I've long wanted to visit, but have not
been able to yet. Fascinating place, and I'll get there some day.

A bit a of heat wave, near 100 degrees in the interior spots, and a solid 20 degrees warmer than it was two days ago.

15. It's been GORGEOUS here!
...I cycled across the GG Bridge, something usually reserved for October.

But don't fret: we'll soon have our drippy, grey June Gloom, since the fog is due back on Friday.

I'll be zipping up windbreakers in the 50 degree weather again very, very soon!

20. In the city yes it is, and you deserve it.
It's been extra chilly lately there.

Out here east of the tunnel it's very hot and with little build up. Wouldn't be so bad if it happens next month but it's a bit of a shock this week. Ah well -- some of the garden veggies love it.

Hilarious.

(Well, what time of day is it there? Because it gets colder than that near the middle of the night here, for instance)

by this time.

Good thing too, or we would not have a winter at all. :)

21. And we can adapt to the chill; just add a sweater, yes? But when it's hot, and you've
taken off all your clothes, there's no further you can go.

Out west, we load them with wood and light it.

Well we would if it ever got cold.

23. Propane firelogs. The room with the fireplace is next to my office,
so we can't burn wood in it (the soot would be bad for my computers and printers).

Mid 80s during the day, 50s at night. Sunny, clear blue sky, and low humidity. I wish it would last all summer but...it won't.

27. Don't feel bad. I'm about 400 miles south of you and
we had the outside one on over the weekend.

(The cheapskate in me refused to turn on the fireplace in the house because it's gas, but the outside one is fired by wood and I have to admit, it felt really good!!!)

31. And you're not used to this? How long have you lived there?
You call yourself a Northerner, bub? Give me a break! That is like the middle of summer to me!

Just kidding, Redstone! That IS unusual, considering that we have already hit temperatures in the high 80's low 90's here in the Philadelphia area a couple of weeks ago. It's very unusual considering where you live, but then again...the weather will never be like it was mebbe......oh, twenty something years ago ( from what I remember )

Warm and muggy here in the land of the Big Sky. LAST week the snow was at an elevation about six feet above the top of my head. You must have our cool now.
