The World's Largest Lips!

These lips are located in the Sudanese region of West Darfur and they measure at just short of 1 kilometer wide.

it appears to be a culvert of some sort with the surrounding terrain sloping down to it.

19. I went to Google Earth and found this image by the coordinates

listed at the link. When you click on the "lips" info button it says that this is a destroyed village. More here:

I don't see a lips info button. But how odd that it would be a destroyed village. Looks like uninhabited terrain to me.

23. I agree that it doesn't look like a village. However, when I copied

and pasted the coordinates into Google Earth and clicked the search button there was a small logo on the picture labeled "lips" which opened to a window that indentified it as a destroyed village.

24. Just installed Google Earth. Are you referring to the "Flame" tags?

There are some "Flame" logos that indicated destroyed villages, but those are southeast of this site.

27. You may have a newer version installed. I came up with one of

the blue "i" logos on the map when I copied and pasted the map coordinates into the search box on Google Earth. When I clicked on it a window appeared that said "click here for post" and that took me to http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthreaded.php/Number/721111. In that window was a place to click "view in Google Earth" which took me to a map that had destroyed villages marked with placeholders.

The famous Mars face that some believe had to have been created by an advanced and ancient civilization. It's just a random geological feature, though, whose shadows make a face. From other angles it's nothing.
