It has less to do with the supermarket than with the people who do not put their carts away. Today, some woman left her cart in the space I was about to pull into. The only empty parking space around. She left here cart in the middle of the space, not by the line, which is bad too but not as bad. I honked my horn at her but she didn't come back. Selfish asshole. There was a cart corral not 30 feet away. I guess she really wanted those kids out there in the hot sun rounding those things up to really earn their pay. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate (some) people? I bet she was a Republican.

1. Better yet, is when they park them in the Handicapped spots. |
|
:grr:
Like when my pain level is at an 8 on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the worst fucking pain ever). I have to pull halfway into the damn spot. Limp out of my car to move the fucking cart out of the way. Then I can actually park.

Here, the parking lot is sloped and the wind blows strong enough to blow them all over the lot, into other cars, causing damage. I want to throttle some people. There are some days I feel like Ted Kozynski.

2. I have an addendum to your rant: |
|
People who come through the checkout line at the grocery store, stupidly position themselves in front of their cart, and then go off and LEAVE IT when they're done, blocking everybody behind them in line. Some dingbat did this to me a couple of days ago.
People can be such assholes.

I witnessed a young woman, mid-20's, return to her car which was in a handicapped spot. She had NO handicapped sticker on her car.
She threw the groceries in her car, left the cart very near her car so that it effectively blocked the spot for the next person, then drove off.
Un-freaking-believable. I moved the cart.

What I want is for grocery stores to rent carts instead of letting people have them for free. I mean you have to pay a deposit (say $1) and then you get it back when you return the cart. Like those ones at the airport. Or put up a bunch of barriers in front of the store so they cannot be taken into the parking lot. You would have to bring your car to the front to load them up. But I like the rental idea better.
