Who loves tomatoes???????



LOVE love love love love love love love 'em.

And I don't care if they are "considered" fruit. When did you put fruit in your tomato sauce, or in your soup? And not cold soup, hot hot hot soup or stew.

I love love love love love love 'em.

20. Sorry! I have a friend who's allergic to all citric acid: tomatoes, lemons, limes, oranges
pineapple, grapefruit, strawberries. I feel sooooooooooooooo bad for her because those are all some of my favorite foods. And she looooooooves the smell of all citrus, so I know she'd like it too if she could have it.

I wish they could figure out how to teach the body's immune system not to react to harmless food.

I remember growing beefsteak tomatoes in my backyard, slicing them right off the vine, and putting them on Italian bread with butter. My mouth waters just thinking of it.

but if I find really ripe ones in the store, there are few things more delicious than a salad made entirely of tomatoes and feta cheese. :9

but the best tomatoes are always home grown in the garden. They are so good you can eat them right off the stalk with some salt. I mean, there is like no comparison. (tomato snob here) :D

Recipe:
1 big ripe tomato thinly sliced
2 slices fresh white bread lightly toasted
1 TB mayo

Assemble and eat while standing over sink to catch the juices as they drip off your chin. Serve with Sweet iced tea.

18. Love them! I love when you get fresh vine tomatoes and you rub the stems.
It's one of my favorite smells.

Last night I made whole wheat flatbread with olive tapenade, fresh sliced tomatoes, basil and parmesan. 5 minutes in a HOT oven and MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

27. Fresh garden tomatoes are the best.
We actually have a couple of green cherry tomatoes already, but we won't harvest the big ones until August. I planted 18 heirloom tomatoes this year, so I can't wait to see how they turn out.

28. I've been baking tomatos w/cheese lately
slice up a tomato and dip the slices in any Italian Dressing.

sprinkle the slices w/parmesan cheese and place on baking tin.

bake at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes

take out and top w/mozzerella cheese and place back in oven for about 2 minutes.

Let cool for about 5 min and eat away...

32. had bruschetta mozzerella for dinner last night
add the tomatoes, mozzarella, garden fresh basil (whole or chopped), and chopped green onions to sliced French or Italian bread brushed with olive oil/vinegar/garlic, and bake until cheese begins to brown. Devour.:9

34. Since I'm from Iowa I add corn to my bruchetta
need to pre-cook it so it's not sooo crunchy but it adds a nice mellow taste.

39. the worst part of getting old and falling apart- no seeds or nuts,
so the only way i can have tomatoes is if they are seeded. no more stuffing them straight into my mouth, still warm from the sun. although we are growing an heirloom pink beefsteak again this year that is VERY meaty, with very few seeds.
homegrown tomatoes. almost as gloriously delicious as beer.
