Anybody else feel like they are addicted to DU?

I'm getting a bit nervous about how I'll react when I am unable to access DU next week (because I'll be on the road and won't have a computer).

When they took down the site for server issues, for just a few hours, I think I had some kind of physical reaction...really! I felt sort of, well, uneasy. This is so stupid. I didn't use to use the computer at all, at home.

I think I need an intervention.

And, WTF will I do, next week, when I can't log in? eek!!

If I'm traveling, I don't think about DU and might, if it's convenient, check in once or twice while I'm on the road.

But if I'm at home, I have to make a real effort to structure my day. Otherwise I could (and have :blush: ) waste the whole damn day sitting here posting to you guys. :P :D

well, it wasn't a total waste, but...

I've got to do something about this.

I'm truly thinking about giving away my laptop...even if it kills me! :-(

14. I make trade offs

I make up a schedule of tasks I must do. When I've done them, then I sit down to DU, instead of say watching evening TV. You guys are vasting more entertaining and humane than what's on TV.

I already gave up virtually all TV...
that didn't work.

But, I might have to resist the urge to turn on the computer
until I've done everything else I need to do for the day!

BTW, I agree..DU is much more interesting than TV!

10. I know exactly how you feel!

I don't post all that often, but I love the news, the discussion on the news, the snarky remarks, the hope of a better tomorrow!!!

During the few hours DU was out for upgrades the other day I couldn't take it, so I (finally!!) watched An Inconvenient Truth. I found that to be uplifting, much the same as DU.

When I travel and can't get my news here I try to listen to NPR radio to get a sense of world news... although it still doesn't compare to the insightful discussion ABOUT the news that I get here at DU.
