I just dropped the little girl off at daycare for her first day

(Now you just don't get to be there to give it to her....just listen when she cries about somebody being mean - or bake those cookies....or make the costume for Halloween...or supervise the sleepover...or...$$$$ and $$$$ and $$$$$ for pizza parties, bowling parties, birthday parties, princess parties, frog parties, you-name-it parties!!!!)

I bawled at graduation and as he left to go out w/his friends. I cried as we dropped him off for his summer job. It doesn't get any easier!

13. I remember when the ex and I dropped our daughter off at daycare...

...for the first time. She clung, and screamed, and cried like we were abandoning her. We made it to the car before we broke down. We sobbed all the way to work.

When we picked her up that evening, she was having so much fun that she cried about having to leave.

My son (7 years old) doesn't go to daycare, but he does go to Grandma's house out of necessity, so I understand what you're going through. It's so hard, letting them go. I know that the first time I had to leave him with my Mom and he *wasn't* hysterical at the idea of such, I cried and cried. Just remember, nothing is ever going to supplant you. You are still the most important thing ever in her life, and nothing can ever replace that. :hug:

21. Maybe I'm just weird

or I had boundless faith in my sitter, but I was OK when I went back to work. I did call a lot at first, though :-)

My faith has been rewarded; sitters and day care providers have all been terrific. My eight-year-old son is well-adjusted and remarkably at ease in new social situations.
