Do hangovers hurt more the older you get? |
|
I think they do...I made the horrible mistake of mixing a few beers with vodka (screwdrivers) last night and I swear I think my head is going to fall off from the pain. I never drink vodka. NEVER, but my neighbor and I were talking and enjoying summer...(that sounds like a good excuse)
It just seems when I was younger, this didn't hurt so bad. I remember drinking all sorts of different shots in one night and I never felt like this.
So I guess the song, "the hangovers hurt more than they used to," is right.

1. Yes, and they last longer. |
|
My hangovers now get progressively worse as the day goes on.

2. I don't know that they're worse but it takes a LOT longer to recover |
|
Like days. I can remember waking up with a hangover in college and then going out again that night. Not anymore....

Mine hurt a lot more, BUT, now that I have the sense to chug a bunch of water and have a light snack before going to sleep (even a few saltines) I've found that I recover a lot faster. But yeah, while it's hurting it hurts a lot worse!!

4. I don't get headaches, i just feel drained and depressed |
|
the day after I drink.
Last week I had two mojitos and I was trashed. Kept waking up in the middle of the night and realizing I was still drunk.
Doesn't take much anymore to get trashed and out of it next day.

5. Yes, the whole next day is a waste |

for me if I drink too much.
I feel out of it, heavily fatigued, and achey and not quite nauseaous. I usually need a nap in the late after noon too.
edit: Sleeping is hard too. My heart races and I get night sweats.
So, for those reasons, I don't over imbibe anymore.

6. It's just not fair, dammit |

Youth is wasted on the young. If I have a six-pack, I almost have to stay indoors the next day, because I'll look so horrid I don't want to be seen in public. Huge bags under the eyes. I don't mind cleaning up my act a bit, but I hate the idea of being stone cold sober for the last 30 years of my life.

8. Don't I know it, Hardhead |

I have so many more legitimate reasons to get plastered now than I did when I was 18 and 20 too.
*Sigh* I just half to content myself with reading Hunter's exploits or listening to my younger friends.

9. Where you outside drinking? |

Because drinking in the hot sun, even with a hat one, will really nail you.
