Best material used to construct a sink?
I went sink shopping yesterday. Not something I do often, but I went to the local Home Despot and purchased the nicer, appropriately sized sink.I went sink shopping yesterday. Not something I do often, but I went to the local Home Despot and purchased the nicer, appropriately sized sink to replace the heavily chipped one in my guest bath. I opted for the vitreous china sink instead of the porcelain coated metal sink. Did I make the right choice?

1. As long as you're not tossing hammers into it, it should be fine.
How much stress does a sink need to withstand, really?

2. you could ask in DIY for more info from the people who know
and in a lightly used guest bath your choice should be fine.

I like heavy porcelain on steel though for long wear.

3. You made the right choice,
The china will outlast the metal ones. The rust will show either at the edges if it's a self-rim or around the drain. Can't beat china unless you drop a hammer or something in it.

9. No, rubber just holds the water in and then you have to get rid of it.
I like wool or cardstock.
