Sometimes love just isn’t enough
If there’s one thing in life that has thrown me for a loop, it’s that no matter how much two people love eachother, sometimes they just can’t keep their shit together enough to make it work. You keep gluing the vase back together, but it gets easier to break each time. You work at it as hard as you can, because you know that that’s what it takes, and it’s still not enough. I was utterly convinced of my ability to make it work, because I was willing to try anything. For more than three years, I willingly, glady worked at it. But it all came apart in 5 minutes. I lost my best friend and she avoids me now. I’m finally healing, but the seeming futility of it all bothers me.

I no longer believe in all that crap we’re taught: true love, destiny, soul mates, ‘meant to be together.’ That’s all bullshit. Love is a total crap shoot. And the odds are against you.

There. I just had to get that off my chest. I’ve ordered an orange robe, and I’m saving for a ticket to Tibet. Because I’m goin’ to Katmandu…really, really goin,’ too…if I ever get out of here…I’m goin’ to Katmandu. :+

Who wants a beer?

And it is hard!! very very very f_cking hard...
But if you give up on it where is the joy of at least the hope of it?

5. I haven't truly given up
But neither am I eager to go again. Sometimes you have to get off the merry-go-round and take a breather on the sidelines.

Thanks for the vid! I didn't know Pavarotti did pop music.

A breather is often required..A person needs time to get thier heads together.
I hope only for the best..

Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPK5o2s2IdE

Now I don't wanna lose you
But I don't wanna use you
Just to have somebody by my side
And I don't want to hate you
I don't want to take you
But I don't want to be the one to cry

And that don't really matter
To anyone, anymore
But like a fool, I keep losing my place
And I keep seeing you walk through that door

And there's a danger in loving somebody too much
And it's sad when you know it's your heart you can't trust
There's a reason why people don't stay where they are
Baby, sometimes love just ain't enough

Now I could never change you
I don't wanna blame you
Baby, you don't have to take the fall
Yes I may have hurt you
But I did not desert you
Maybe I just wanna have it all

It makes a sound like thunder
It makes me feel like rain
And like a fool who will never see the truth
I keep thinking something's gonna change

But there's a danger in loving somebody too much
And it's sad when you know it's your heart you can't trust
There's a reason why people don't stay where they are
Baby, sometimes love just ain't enough

And there's no way home
When it's late at night and you're all alone
Are there things that you wanted to say?
And do you feel me beside you in your bed?
There beside you, where I used to lay...

And there's a danger in loving somebody too much
And it's sad when you know it's your heart they can't touch
There's a reason why people don't stay who they are
Baby, sometimes love just ain't enough
Baby, sometimes love,
It just ain't enough

12. Yes

Is that recent? I've never heard it before. Henley has really moved back toward his country roots in recent years. Patti Smyth is a ringer for a young Linda Ronstadt in that vid, heh. Memories.

No, wait. That's pretty sad, too. I need to watch midget wrestling or something, hehe. Cat juggling. Three stooges. Something really off the wall. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnZb5wi_jsU

I understand totally. Love isn't enough. I dunno about the other stuff, i'm a bit of a romantic, but logically, i've become much more cynical. Even when you think you might have something, there is enough in the way of obstacles to make that even impossible.

Katmandu sounds tempting d00d.

do the robes come in green though? i don't like the orange ones.

19. I'm sure green could be had
And yes, everyone should go with the color that's best for them. Buddha can get over his fat self. Oh, that's right: he did.

*whistles* ooo-kay, that was pretty bad. moving right along...

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNMbuygEju8

When the routine bites hard
And ambitions are low
And the resentment rides high
But emotions wont grow
And were changing our ways,
Taking different roads
Then love, love will tear us apart again

Why is the bedroom so cold
Turned away on your side?
Is my timing that flawed,
Our respect run so dry?
Yet theres still this appeal
That weve kept through our lives
Love, love will tear us apart again

Do you cry out in your sleep
All my failings expose?
Get a taste in my mouth
As desperation takes hold
Is it something so good
Just cant function no more?
When love, love will tear us apart again

And now for something completely different! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIqhUCZgwXQ

22. How can it not be enough?
All I can say is, how ungrateful. It should be more than enough. Plenty of people don't get that much.

Goes to show it's all relative. Like a Mexican who comes illegally and works for less than minimum wage and thinks he's rich, while a native born American finds a job at twice minimum wage is not good enough.

How can such a thing not be enough? How can you demand so much of life? So many of us have so much less, and never have love, and you're saying it's not enough? Does not compute.
