Close call between the dog and a squirrel

[HEyHEY]

I was at my sisters and we were all in the backyard and a squirrel ran up the porch. It was just sitting there and the dog was near us and just staring at it. As a joke I say, "Go get it!" And she takes off across the lawn in full flight. We were laughing thinking there was no way the dog was gonna get this thing as it was way the hell up high... but at the last moment, the squirrel FELL on to the ground. And the dog was almost upon it. It started to run and as it was running the dog was gaining ground until the disappeared from sight behind a log, we just heard the sound of a squirrel shrieking and my sister is yelling, "Cali! NO!" And I'm thinking, "Fuck, I just killed this thing."
Then we saw the squirrel jump on the fence and hop over. Pheeeww. My nephew was then crying. So, thank GOD the dog didn't get it. But, she was running along the fence for about 15 minutes hoping to get a second chance.
