What's up DU on this fine Saturday night? |
|
I just got home from the beach. I had no plans to go to the beach today or yesterday but I got a phone call yesterday from a friend saying if I wanted to go hang out at a beach house for a bit this weekend I should pack an over night bag and she'd be by in 10 minutes to pick me up. I did and I went...I love impromptu trips!
How's everyone else's weekend going so far? :hi:

I've got 4 racks of babybacks waiting to be Webered this summer sometime, but they are frozen solid right now.

about to watch a movie on On Demand and drink the rest of this bottle of wine. Then later tonight a nice dip in the hot tub under the stars to seal a great day of peace and quiet.

I've had a week of really good days, the weather has been perfect, and since I eventually remember to put my food in the oven (instead of just turning it on and expecting the food to jump in there all by itself) I am having a good dinner. A day at the beach sounds wonderful. :) :hi:

they make me feel inadequate about my own stuff and then I get the itch to buy new things...which has the potential to be very dangerous to my wallet!

13. I have a loaf of cinnamon bread rising in the pan. |
|
I'm baking bread to use as French toast for Mr. LIW's Father's Day breakfast in bed.
Today, we did yard work and had a big hearty skillet brunch (spicy sausage, potatoes, peppers, eggs, and cheese) with biscuits. Afterward, we did some shopping for the dog, stopped for coffee, and took the kids to the carnival celebrating a local city tradition. After the carnival, we went to Baskin Robbins.
This evening, I started the bread dough and finished some laundry while we watched TV together. Just got the kids to bed, so I'm having a snack right now, and after that Mr. LIW and I are going to play a rock and roll trivia game and have a couple of beers.
:)

there will be a tantalizing aroma in the house!
Mr. LIW serves me breakfast in bed a lot, so I figure he deserves a total red carpet treatment on Dad's day. :)

nothing is worse when it comes to long games than Yankees-Red Sox...I could read War and Peace faster than it takes for those teams to play a game

that they have the longest average time of game in baseball — something like 3:40. Apparently they take a lotta pitches and make a lotta moves.

those games are usually very entertaining but they are looooong!
btw I got a little sunburn on the top of my foot today...just one foot, it figures the 2 square inches of skin that I missed with the suntan lotion and it gets burned. I should just buy a burqa and save myself a lot of trouble

I'm actually surprised the Irish never invented a burqa-like garment because we burn like mad!
