31. I spent many hours at the matinee watching the Stooges...


I love all of them. One of my favorites is "Malice in the Palace". Innuendo I didn't understand when I was a kid is so funny now. The supporting cast of characters included Hasan Ben Sober, Ginarummy, and Afadollah.

"We sing for the 'halibut'", "Giva Dam"...Fifty years later, I still laugh every time I watch them.

Viewing the There Stooges films in their entirety is the only proper way to enjoy them. Most of us grew up watching them piecemeal, chopped up into ten or fifteen minute segments for television. I didn't know what I was missing until I happened upon a fringe theater showing Stooge films in the late sixties. Their humor and slapstick was always predictably funny, but I didn't realize there was a fantastic storyline involved, too.
