Do not.... I repeat....DO NOT
wait 10 years in between dentist appointments....the scraping, Oh God, the scraping.

have to go back in three months for another cleaning and insurance won't cover that, but I really want to be healthy.

no cavities or anything like that, my gums are a little whack, but she said a few weeks of proper flossing should fix that....

1. They just scraped the protective coating off your teeth
Now you'll have cavities from hell.

It's a racket, it tell you, a racket!

2. Find a dentist who uses the sonic cleaners
They clean your teetch with sound waves or something (could be magic for all my technological acumen), but anyway, there's very little scraping involved.

6. I must be some sort of weirdo...
I had this conversation with my wife last week after we both visited the dentist for one of our twice a year visits with the dental hygienist.

I LIKE how it feels when they get the pointy implements of doom and start digging around your back molars. It...sort of hurts, but it's very therapeutic feeling. It feels like....something of value is being accomplished.
