Berlin, together again, for one night! Remember riding on the Metro?
Am I the only person who saw the VH1 show where they reunited Berlin? Hope not.

Observations/questions:
Is Nunn still hot or what? Yummy.

Does the lead guy appear to have a chip on his shoulder the size of Cleveland, or what? The guy who now owns "Mad Science" (who knew?) and immediately says "I don't wanna look stupid...grr grr grr...maybe" when he's approached. If it wasn't an editing trick, he was the only one who didn't rush to hug the 20-year-missing drummer.

The bands chosen for future eps are of Berlin-wattage--Flock of Seagulls, etc, 1 or 2 hit wonders, for the most part. If you were the exec. producer, who would you try to reunite? I would vote for the Replacements, sniff sniff, the greatest band of the 80's. Men at Work would be a good choice as well.

3. Gee...we didn't see that one coming.
;-)

Oh, by the way, are you a Drive By Truckers fan? They're here the same weekend you are (for 2 shows, Fri. and Sat.). The shows are at Stubb's indoors. If you want to go let me know and I'll pick ya up a ticket.

6. Gosh. I don't know.

What night is it on? I'm bringing three other bacchanalian carousers with me from Chicago. No telling what high-jinx they may be up to. I'll have to check first.

Besides, I'm kinda scared. I never saw a band that had the word "Truckers" in their name before. It is a little frightening.

But thanks, David. I'll check into it.

8. Think...Muscle Shoals, southern rock, a modern Skynyrd
They are playing Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st. If the show were outdoors at Stubb's you could get tickets at the door, but indoors is a different game.

9. Now, I'm totally petrified.
Isn't there someone playing in town that's a little more, um, cosmopolitan?

Besides, my plaid flannel shirt with the sleeves cut off is lost at the dry cleaners.

10. Oh, I'm sure there's plenty of other stuff going on.
I'm probably going to one of the shows unless there's someone I want to see more. I've seen DBT twice already, and they don't have any new stuff out. They're a good band, though. I've already come to grips with the fact that I feel like putting an old Camaro up on blocks in the front yard after one of their shows.

Oh, your source for info on the Austin scene: www.austinchronicle.com They're pretty much a week-to-week operation, so check the Thursday before your trip to see music listing, etc. They have links to the major venues too, so you can glance through those. City Search is OK, too. They have stuff a little further out.

11. Thanks for the links.
My brother, Rory, is watching out for events as well. He's keen on this kinda stuff.

It's gonna be tough to coordinate the comings and goings of 5 middle-aged men who have been friends since grade-school. So I'm just trying to keep things open until the last minute.

But, we'll certainly get together in February, come what may.

7. I saw them in Hartford this past year.
I thought they rocked! They had lots of anti Bush video stuff flashing on the screen behind them!
