NEVER ever put boiling hot water into a container to make instant tea and shake to mix
When you shake boiling hot water in a container a bunch of steam comes out and blasts open the top of the container leading to a clean kitchen (eventually) and blisters between fingers making it hard to type. Kitchen ceiling and walls and cupboards and windows and decorations and floor are all clean now. Oh, I almost forgot. If you try this, make sure to not use instant pre-sweetened tea because the sugar is sticky.

Another interesting day of massaging coming up tomorrow.

End of tonight's public service announcement.

6. Ah, ok.
That'll teach me to read closer next time. ;-)

I had an unfortunate hot exploding glass experience a couple of thanksgivings ago, and I don't care to repeat it. Yikers.

7. I learned with cookware, putting hot baking dishes into sink&running water.
Way back as a young adult. Called home to complain about bad dishes. I also didn't know that chickens had to be cooked in a day or 2. Called home to complain about the slimy week old raw chicken in my frig. My mother was very patient, probably laughed her butt off after hanging up. I must type slowly because otherwise my fingers get warm and hurt. Maybe I'll go read a book.

8. Even simpler advice
Never make "instant tea" - it's even worse than "instant coffee". :scared:

Tea is supposed to take a while to make, that's half of the magic - one is relaxed by the very act of making it. But then, being English, I regard a cup of tea as the solution to all of the world's ills.

9. I have found that soaking the burn in cold water
really lessens the effects of the burn. The body absorbs the water you're soaking in instead of sending a bunch to the site causing a blister. I actually grabbed the pre-heated oven rack with my bare hand one night (the oven mit was on the other hand):eyes:, and there was actually no blister from it. The pain was unbearable when it started to dry, but after that, I was good. I was even hand sewing that same night.

I hope your burn heals fast.

12. Blender lesson: Don't put really hard cheese in a plastic blender unless you want
to buy a new food holder part.

Your blender exploded hot liquid all over? Yikes.
