I know she told you,
I know she told you that she loved you
Much more than I do,
But I know she left you,
And you swear that you just don't know why,
Well, you know that I'll always be round
If you ever want me
Come on and cry, cry baby, cry baby, cry baby, yeah,
Oh, like you always seem to do.

Don't you know,
Honey, nobody ever gonna love you
The way I try to do.
Who'll be willing to take your pain
And all your heartache, too ?
Honey, I swear I'll always, I'll always be around
If you ever want me
Come on and cry, cry baby, cry baby yeah, cry baby, yeah,
Oh daddy, welcome back home, yeah.

1. The Light that burns twice as bright...
Dr. Eldon Tyrell: "You were made as well as we could make you."

Roy Batty: "But not to last."

Dr. Eldon Tyrell: "The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very, very brightly, Roy."

- from the movie Blade Runner

Janice, burning as brightly as the sun.

Aside; there was an art photo of her in the nude, posted here a while back...I cannot remember being stirred like I was then by a mere photograph of a person.

2. I think I saw it years ago.
I was surprised about how skinny she was. She always talked about herself as a fat ugly person. Unfortunatly every one around her seemed need her to believe it. Pisses me off that Kristofferson made her believe it.

3. Would you trade one concert of hers for every concert of McCartney?
I think not.

She made me shiver.

5. Paul? Paul McCartney? I would not choose.
Between the first voices I heard when I was 10, or the first wild woman singing when I was 16? I abstain.

6. Yeah.
She sang a little while. Then she chose to put more smack in her arm. RIP Janice.

Janis made me weep. At first I saw what you said as callous. Sorry.

I tend to think that as a depressive with a lousy past in a business with a habit of eating its young, she succumbed to an addiction whose lure is removal of pain.

And if one listens to her sing, one can hear the pain. Like Garland, or Holiday.

In MY version of Heaven, I get to sit down with Hendrix, Joplin, Denny, Morrison before each of them play a set.
