CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) --- A man who police say tried to steal a dance with a stripper was arrested.

Jason T. Parrott, 20, of West Burlington, was at the Lumberyard II on Saturday night and received eight lap dances, which cost $25 each, court records show.

He refused to pay and police were called.

Parrott was charged with fifth-degree theft and public intoxication.

D'y know how many of these bastards I've had to deal with over the years? In the VIP room it's supposedly my fault because I didn't get the money up front; but in the regular dance area I've been ripped off plenty of times because standard is that you get paid after the dance; not before.

if the kid maybe got a little excited and lost track of how many dances he had had, and then didn't have enough money to pay for 8 dances at $25/dance? I mean, sometimes when you have a sexy young girl bouncing around in your lap, keeping track of whether it's dance #4 or #5 or #6 is not always easy for a guy.

The kid should pay what he had... but, what is the recourse beyond that? If he said, "oops, I lost track of the dances and only have $50?"

I've never done that to a dancer (even when I've lost count at a few more dances than 8...) But, I can see how it happens.

43. It's the dancer's responsibility to ask after each dance....

either for the money; or if they want another; or both. It is courteous and professional to do so. Any dancer who dosen't follow this rule is in danger of being seen as a rip-off artist.
It does go both ways; but in the OP situation it sounds like he was the scammer; not the dancer.

The bars in Sarnia, Ontario were FULL of truly lovely naked women. Lap dances were STRICTLY money up front, CASH and no premium exchange for US funds. I considered the exchange perfectly honorable, with excellent value given for the money paid.

the will of the customer. I've seen people have a bitch of a time trying to quit a cell-phone company and other similar things. In fact; it is considered rude to ask for the money up front; and from what I know of the biz (been in 13 years) this is generally true across the board; although it does vary from state to state. As I said; in the VIP room it is upfront; whereas in the general area it is after the dance.
