A bicyclist ran into my 6 cylinder Land Cruiser and put a dent in it |
|
And there is no way it was my fault- it was parked legally in front of my house on a quiet residential street. I was sitting in my living room at the time, so luckily I wasn't hurt.
From what I saw, the rider was watching his front wheel go round and round and just ran directly into my tailgate. I don't like to judge people, but that is a pretty stupid way to ride a bike. It looked like a bird hitting a window. He took off as fast as he could pedal- I guess he didn't feel like paying to have the dent fixed. And I didn't chase him down, I think I was just too stunned that someone could do that.
By the way, the Land Cruiser's length and width are less than a Honda Accord, so it's hardly a behemoth taking up too much space on the street.
With all the sharing of stories about cars, trucks, SUVs, and bikes lately, I just thought I'd contribute.:hi:

4. But he probably would have left a $100 bill under my wiper |
|
...to fix the dent, before pedaling off.

As if Taterguy ever had $100 in his wallet. Keep dreaming buddy. I'd also like to know where you can get body work done for 100 dollars or less.

6. I dented my Dad's two week old car. |
|
I was 10. He had just bought his FIRST new car. Stupid me, I was riding my bike and decided to see how far I could ride with my eyes closed before chickening out. Before I chickened out, I rode right into the driver's side door. HUGE dent. Can you say PISSED OFF? That was the day I got my very last whoopin'. I think he felt guilty afterwards. And damn, it took me nearly a year of mowing lawns on our street to pay for the repair. I didn't get money from the neighbors though, they gave it straight to him.

I have seen many a biker look up just in time. Never actually seen one hit a car. Sorry about your dent though.

8. It makes a case for wearing a helmet, anyway. |
|
I'm pretty sure he made the dent with his (helmetless) head. Apparently he was ok, though.

You're obviously not a good liberal because you have an SUV. Flog yourself.

12. It's not an SUV, it's a "station wagon" according to Toyota |
|
Besides, I drive my Civic way more, weather permitting.
I mostly drive it to tow the protest signs to the marches and protests. The rest of the folks ride scooters, so I help out...
At least I don't have a "W" sticker!
