Please help me
I am going to post something thoughtful, because Peggy told me that if I get to 800 posts tonight, she will give me a COOKIE! Philboy like COOKIE! oook!

For you people in your 40's and older, do you ever have a fleeting moment of clarity where you feel as good as you did when you were a child? Where it's like there are no worries about your health, your job, the mortgage, your kids, your parents, etc?

The feeling may only last a moment, but it's where you feel really good and carefree. This happened to me today. Anyone else?

It happened in my pickup truck believe it or not.

Beautiful weather, shorts and a t-shirt, driving...arm out window, breeze in face...and it took me back to going to the drive-in theatre on a hot summer night when I was a teen. A most excellent feeling indeed.

And your horse...isn't it strange what animals can do for us? Horses are beautiful, majestic animals...and even just watching them move gives me a sense of awe. I have not ridden one in years, but I can imagine the peace they must give you.

Chocolate chip would be preferred! :hi: :hi:

27. Rarely -- but they do happen at times.

But, those wake-up-and-worry moments in the middle of the night are pretty frequent. I worry most about finances (college for the kids, retirement, and home improvement, mostly), my mother's health, my in-law's health, my career, etc.

Life. It ain't for the weak.

On edit: Thank goodness for kitties!!! There is nothing better than kitty fur therapy. Also, having kids helps keep me connected to joy and enthusiasm, although, feeling vulnerable about something happening to them is my biggest terror, as well.

29. Retired, Child-Free, No Mortgage, Mom is Fine ...
(Of course I don't worry about my mortgage because I don't have a house yet, but still) I don't actively worry about my health unless something is going acutely wrong, soI'd have to say I feel better than I did as a kid most of the time. As I am often heard saying, Being old rocks out loud!

36. Y'know, I do have moments like you describe...
I really like "finding things"- interesting stones, pieces of rusty metal, etc.

And I think the sensation is just the same as it was when I was a kid.

It's a PURE thing.

31. During the summer when its HOT...
and we are up in the Sierra foothills in Calaveras county. Just at dusk, when the heat of a really hot day is just beginning to cool; the oak trees, the dry grass, and the red dirt all combine for a certain smell that puts me right back into being a kid at my grandmothers house.

Those moments are precious.

:D
