Dinner at the Prophets. What are you eating tonight?
I bought all the stuff to make a recipe given to me at my bridal shower by my second cousin's wife. Then, I lost the recipe and I sure don't know her phone number to call her up (and I don't know her very well either) so I just pretended I knew what I was doing. I'm making "steak and noodles, Italian style" and right now I'm crossing my fingers that it'll be edible.

Whatcha' eating'?

22. True dat
Funny story is that my goddaughter (10 years old) loves chicken - she eats it every which way and just discovered that she really likes chicken wings. So, the other day she tried a few bites of her mother's gyro and liked the meat, but when she found out it was lamb decided she couldn't eat any more of it. So I said, "well, then what do you have against chickens?" She just laughed.

8. Add some chili and cheese and I'm there
One of my favorites is a little hot dog joint in Northeast Ohio but I can't get anything as good around here (in West Central Indiana).

12. Disappointing salad
I sometimes buy that pre-cut bagged lettuce. I bought one that reads "Mediterranean."

If I wanted a bag of baby spinach with croutons.. I would have bought a bag of baby spinach and some croutons. hehe

Was tasty, but...

18. Yeah, I've given up on the pre-cut bagged lettuce
I've had some rather unappealing bags and now I go for a fresh head of Romaine. In fact, we had a small salad with dinner and it was Romaine lettuce I bought at a farmer's market almost two weeks ago and it was still good. I was quite surprised!

19. Mmmm, that is my kind of comfort food
EstimatedProphet doesn't really get into mac and cheese so if I want it, I have to make a good homemade batch of it and turn him around.

But me, I'll eat it in any form - grew up on Kraft, so EasyMac is appealing to me!

Enjoy! :hi:

20. Oh my!
I really like the sound of that. Is it just layered together and then baked? Or is there a more detailed recipe that you can share with me?

Also, how do you make your guac (if you don't mind sharing)? :9

15. All I know so far is that it will start with salad.
I'm marinating some extra-firm tofu chunks for on Sweetie's salad,
and I've got some nice roasted turkey breast for in mine.

Beyond that, I don't know yet. I found some gnocci I didn't know
we had today, so maybe my famous "Gnocci in sherried cream sauce".

25. As it turned out, there was NO salad, lol!
Sweetie was thrilled when I informed her that I had
marinated the tofu just for her (I never touch the stuff myself),
but she said she'd rather have it hot, so I stir-fried it
with some noodles and seasoned with sesame, ginger and garlic.

Pretty tasty!

24. Actually, my dinner turned out to be "fancy spaghetti" and a salad
I had envisioned the Italian steak and noodles as being served on wide egg noodles but as it was cooking, I realized it should probably go over spaghetti instead. I used whole wheat spaghetti and it did turn out to be pretty good.

I hope yours is good and satisfying tonight! :hi:
