What would you being doing right now...
If you just happened to be leaving on Monday for a week-long vacation to the Dominican Republic?

And what would you bring to pass the time?

1. doing the happy dance
in between packing!

I'm jealous.

Pass the time? Books, books, and more books.

2. It's our first vacation in over 7 years.
We're pretty excited.

I normally don't pack until about an hour before I leave for something, jamming everything in and sitting on the luggage to zip ot closed. But I just started packing. AND I'm cleaning out my drawers, re-folding and organizing them. I'm turning into my mother.

3. don't forget to
clean out the fridge.

Stop the paper and the mail - or get neighbors to pick up.

Get a few of those auto light timers and turn things off/on periodically.

Mow the lawn tomorrow. Water the plants.

Flush all the toilets before you leave. Pour a little liquid cleanser in them.

Set the thermostat to like 80 - 83.

Have fun!

We expect PICTURES! btw.

ps - we all turn into our mothers eventually. :)

4. For breakfast we made omelets, so the veggies and eggs wouldn't go to waste
We live in a condo building, so we don't have to worry about the lawn!

I think if we ask the front desk security, they can help with the mail.

I'm curious about the liquid cleanser in the toilets...

And of course there will be pictures!

13. just a dash
in the toilet -

A) it ensures you've FLUSHED them; and

B) it helps keep them from getting that moldy &/or pinky scum in there from the water sitting stagnant; and

C) helps keep your condo "smelling fresh" while you're gone.

Hopefully, there will be some room in my luggage. The way I'm packing right now you'd think I was moving there.

We're looking forward to buying some nice scotch, duty free, on the way back.

9. Laundry's being done as we speak.
And this place will be spotless before we leave Monday morning.

I'm pleasantly surprised how well prepared the Mr. and I are for this trip. We tend to leave everything to the last minute, rushing to the plane right before he gates close. Not this time!

Hold down the fort while I'm gone, OK?

15. I'd be looking for "Dominican Cuisine" websites, to find good (& obscure) foods to try.
All I'd need to "pass the time" would be a camera and
some comfy walking shoes.

And bug repellent. Lots of bug repellent.

16. That's a great idea.
We're staying at an "all-inclusive" resort so hopefully they'll have some interesting, local dishes to choose from.

I'm bringing some books and the Mr. is bringing some cards. We're traveling with another couple for the first time, which I'm sure will be a blast.

Bug repellent...check.
