I figured out what I am going to do during the SOTU!!! I am going to be watching the beyond brilliant BBC Miniseries "The Singing Detective". I loaned the DVD's to a friend months ago and she just now gave them back. They made a film version, which was okay, but there is no way it could match the sheer brilliance of the original. Have any DUers seen it?

I'm afraid to see the movie because I know it'll be the biggest bastardization since the US remake of "The Vanishing".
The original "Singing Detective" was amazing...hopefully the movie will prompt the Beeb to rerelease it on video

3. Say hello to Janet for me |

Janet Suzman is my favorite actress, yet I've never gotten the chance to see this series! It's too expensive to purchase outright, so I check at ebay from time to time. Great way to spend tonight!
I myself plan to do some light reading. Listening to Bush only gives me nightmares, I'm a sensitive soul and it would eat at me for weeks were I to so much as glance at it. I prefer to let stronger stomachs here at DU watch the SOTU address, and then let me know how it went.
