2. Hmm, did the Sox win any
pennants or rings yet?

Way too early to start bragging...do you remember 1978?

3. What does bragging about the past have to do with the crap season you're having now?
I'm glad watching B&W highlight reels is good enough for you. Most baseball fans appreciate the legacy, but it doesn't make up for poor performance in the here and now.

But if it makes you feel better, that's fine.

4. I wasn't bragging about the past
Edited on Sun Jun-24-07 08:39 PM by bigwillq
That was just a warning to all the Red Sox fans who want to brag now because their team is in first place. Big fucking deal. It's June.

It's how you finish in October that counts. So what if the Sox are in first and the Yanks are in third? A lot can happen from now until the end of the season. That is all.

5. Well, Yanks fans haven't kept quiet about kicking ass in the regular season
Some of them I talked to earlier in the millenium acted like the other teams shouldn't even show up for games. I'm not pointing my finger at you, willq, but a lot of Yanks fans are, shall we say, vocal. When the tables are turned the peons get vocal back. Them's the breaks.

6. Guys, guys...it's a GAME! It's played by millionaires who don't give a fuck about you!
They really don't. So the both of you would be better off losing the emotional investment.

You really would, and that's some advice from a friend.

10. Yeah, I know
I've put it to myself in those terms sometimes too, and it doesn't make me happy. Still, I like sports, I like watching sports, and it's more fun if you care about who wins. So, that's that I guess.

7. I'm a vocal Yankees fan too but
I think it's too early for any fan of any team, whether it's the Sox or the Mets or the Brewers to think they have already won the division. It's way to early for that. A lot can happen, either way to any of these teams.
