:hi: I broke a tooth this weekend (or rather, it fell apart :(). I had a dental cleaning on Thursday, and the best I can figure is that they loosened an already-partially fractured area on the tooth. It's a lower right molar, second from the back (I don't have wisdom teeth any more). It doesn't hurt, and there is no sensitivity, but that tooth has a HUGE filling in it that was done in the late 1970s. I lost half of the inner side of the enamel this weekend. I know for sure I'll have to have a crown, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed I don't have to have a root canal. I have dental insurance, but I don't have an extra $1000-$1500 just lying around.
